Delta Academies Trust is a family of schools is made up of 53 academies, including 34 primaries, 16 secondaries, 1 all-though and 2 alternative provisions. Predominantly based around Yorkshire and the Humber, their mission is to improve educational outcomes for communities in the North of England, creating a sustainable organisation that improves society and the wider environment.
The client approached Rely on Fire Check for them to carry out an independent audit of their fire detection & fire alarm system and emergency lighting system.
The output of our service provided the client with accurate as fitted drawings for each system with the emergency lighting drawings detailing all points of emphasis that require illuminance of prescribed levels by the emergency lighting system e.g. firefighting equipment, escape and safety signage, first aid points and other items prescribed in BS 5266.
We then verified the existing systems for compliance with British Standards which included checking the actual levels of illuminance of the emergency lighting carried out in the hours of darkness.
Despite the school being of recent construction the audit identified defects and an absence of compliance documentation that the school needed to be compliant withBritish standards and legislation for record keeping.
Rely on Fire Check produced a detailed report which communicated all observations and recommendations supported by digital images to aid the client in defect rectification to achieve compliance.
