We have used Rely on Fire Check on numerous high profile residential projects such as Gascoigne West, Canada Waters and Battersea Power Station to provide a fully certificated design and specification service for the Grade D domestic fire alarm systems.
Rely on Fire Check in all instances have worked with our technical team to correct and develop the design and provide technical support, including technical documentation and certification, so that CDE deliver a compliant system to our clients.
We continue to work with Rely on Fire Check who are supporting us with consultancy services and training to prepare us for our forthcoming audit to obtain BAFE scheme certification for fire alarm installation.

In an increasingly competitive market LTL Systems Limited has always strived to stand above the pack in both quality and compliance. As a BAFE certified and a Notifier Gold Partner, compliance with standards has always been a high priory for the business to maintain the required level of standards necessary for these accreditations. Post COVID, LTL Systems has become a virtually paperless company, employing new cloud based and electronic systems to reduce our carbon footprint and improve efficiency.
Our certification suit was converted to electronic format but lacked uniformity and needed to be transformed into a fully code compliant, uniform format which could be easily accessed and utilised by engineers on handheld PDA’s. We carried out our market research looking for a suitable product and explored the Rely on Fire Check offering. Having known Chris Carvell within the industry for a number of years, and his eye for detail it came as no surprise that the package offered fully ticked all of the boxes that we were looking for. Not only did it contain all of the certificates we required, it also had new certificates that we had not previously issued in a clear and concise format. This raised the standard of the quality and services that we provided and also provided our engineers with step-by-step methodical processes within the certificate content which assists with their roles and prevents latent defects.
The quality aspect has always been an important leader within our industry, the level of clear, concise information within the documentation has no rival and has also assisted us in tender situations where it has been necessary for us to demonstrate the level of information we can provide before, during and post completion of a project. It has also allowed us to improve customer retention, particular in the Facilities Management sector where compliance is first and foremost and needs to be demonstrated.
Through ongoing advice and experience, the design and verification process enables a level playing field for us and our contractors to make sure that we commit to compliant systems for our landlord’s obligations.

As our organisation wanted to progress into the self-delivery of design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, and take steps to work towards obtaining BAFE SP203-1 scheme certification, we approached Chris to supply us with methods of certification and technical reporting along with the provision of a training programme to enhance the skills of our existing electrical workforce. We have recently brought in Rely on Fire Check to provide independent support and guidance for large fire alarm installation projects. Although our relationship with ROFC is relatively new, it is clear to see that they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, particularly relating to British Standards for fire alarm and detection and emergency lighting systems.
The team at ROFC were brought in as an impartial team to our existing fire alarm installer, ensuring that the design stage was scrutinised objectively which led to significant changes being made to ensure our business achieved compliance with British Standards and fire safety objectives. Having an impartial consultant work alongside our existing installer has benefited us greatly, ensuring we are receiving value for money and that all works are verified and signed off and certified during installation and commissioning.
ROFC have influenced the overall fire strategy that we are implementing at Johnson-Matthey in order to achieve our fire safety objectives. The team have retrospectively verified existing fire alarm systems in 2 of our largest site buildings and produced extensive and evidenced reports highlighting numerous non-conformances to British Standards.
ROFC are now working with us to ensure that these systems are rectified by the original installer. We will continue to work closely With ROFC as our critical friend.
