The base knowledge module incorporates content that is needed for all fire detection & fire alarm system work activities namely design, installation, commissioning and maintenance. These courses form the prerequisite before moving onto the work activity modules for those looking to undertake fire detection & fire alarm system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
This Base Knowledge module is not a prerequisite for Grade D and Emergency Lighting system work activity modules.
The work activities modules contain the base knowledge required per discipline which take the delegate to a level of competence in relation to the work activities of design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
The specialist application modules provide delegates with the specialist knowledge they require if operating in particular premises types such as healthcare premises. These specialist application modules also provide a route to competence for those working with particular system technologies such as aspirating smoke detection, linear heat detection and voice alarm systems.
This training course provides delegates with an understanding of the general BAFE scheme requirements. This is non-technical course and delivers knowledge and understanding regarding requirements relating to the documented management system, insurance, training & competence, operational locations and BAFE modular and compliance certification.
